Training Course on Applying labor law provisions in electronic enterprises

In the framework of the operation of the Electronic Business Association to promote responsible labor practices in Vietnam, on 9-10 April 2019 Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Organization International Labor (ILO) organized a training course on law application for electronic enterprises in Hai Phong. Training course with the participation of about 50 delegates are representatives of FDI electronic enterprises and suppliers in Hai Phong city.

At training course, Ms. Mai Hong Ngoc – Manager of BEA (VCCI) shared that In recent years, VCCI has cooperated with Vietnam Electronic Business Association, with the support of the ILO and the Japanese government, to establish electronics coaliation in vietnam to promote socially responsible labour practice. This is one of the initiatives that VCCI aims to create a forum for FDI enterprises and their suppliers in Vietnam to meet share information, experience and beneficial cooperation to build more responsible labor practices together, creating more sustainable jobs for the Vietnamese electronics industry.The training course is designed to raise awareness, build capacity for businesses, promote compliance with labor laws and create forums and opportunities for businesses to share information  and learn from each other, etc



Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang, Union vice president of HEZA stressed that the training courses with this content are necessary and timely for the e-business enterprises in Hai Phong to meet the current trend of labor relations.



Mr. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Program Officer, ILO hopes that this is an opportunity for enterprises to   share information with the trainers about obstacles and challenges in the process of operating businesses; through training courses, ILO and VCCI can listen to and gather feedback from enterprises to support the revision of the Labor Code, and help businesses build more harmonious, stable, progressive labor relations.


Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuc – General Director of CIRD (MOLISA) instructs businesses to review and detect potential causes leading to labor disputes and strikes. Businesses also share some hot issues at the enterprise such as labor discipline, how to build culture, policy of company,... Sharing of the main cause occurred in 2 strikes at Toyoda Gosei Company, Mr. Luu Hai Au said that it is related to the rights and interests of workers. For Bluecom Vina Co., Ltd., Mr. Tran Van Tu said the company must have a KPI assessment process, work efficiency, and businesses must be profitable so that the company can propose better rules than the law. In addition, enterprises must have specific dialogues with employees (through trade unions, dialogue channels) for employees to understand and stick with the company.




On April 10, 2019, Dr. Vu Thi Thu Hien – Lecturers of Judicial Academy instructed enterprises to apply the provisions of the labor law / internal documents of enterprises in the process of signing, using and terminating contracts with employers through many situations of actual labor disputes between businesses and employers. Representatives of enterprises working in HR also ask for advice on practical issues that are happening at enterprises such as terminating unilateral labor contracts, signing and suspending contracts, extending the validity of contract.

The training course went well and received many good reviews from business representatives. Enterprises propose to have more useful training courses so that businesses can understand the labor laws, share and learn how to manage human resources and harmonize labor relations among company in the same field.
