About 782,000 new jobs generated in first half of year, equal to 98.6% of the same period last year. Of the total, nearly 57,000 labourers have been helped to go work abroad under the labour contract, increasing by 18.3% compared with the same period previous year, Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep said at the ministry’s recent press conference on the implementation of social and labour policies.

According to the reports from employment service centers across the country, the number of labourers consulted and introduced jobs by the employment service centers was over 1.46 million people. Estimated, in the first 6 months, the employment services center held 560 employment transaction sessions. On average one transaction session attracts the participation of about 25-30 enterprises. The number of employees involved in a session is about 400-450 employees, of which approximately 200-230 employees were recruited during a job transaction.


The unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2018 is estimated at 2.2%, in which urban areas are 3.13%; the rural area is 1.73%; For seen, in the first 6 months, the unemployment rate in urban areas is below 4%. The rate of trained workers in the first 6 months is estimated at 57.6%.

In the second half of the year, MOLISA will continue to implement solutions to develop the labour market, labour migration, ensure flexibility and unification of the labour market, create favorable conditions for the recruitment and employment of enterprises; Strengthening the connection between labour supply and demand in the market. Improve the quality of operation of the employment service system; Strengthening consultancy, job introduction, labour market information.

In the period, the ministry carries out a programme on providing and ensuring stable employment for female workers, especially those aged above 35 in industrial zones. As well as, the Ministry implements effectively and tightly management of dispatching Vietnamese labour to work abroad; protects the legal benefit and right of labourers working abroad and timely deals with the issue arising. The Ministry also enhances the work of inspection, improvement the operation of labour exporting.

The Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep said that the Ministry would strengthen the researches, labour market demand forecast, and consultation, introduce job, organize the employment transaction sessions of the employment service center system… in order to develop the labour market, employment solving…

In the first five months, the number of newly-established enterprises in Vietnam rose by 3.5 % year-on-year to 52,322, with total registered capital of 516.9 trillion VND.

Large numbers of new enterprises were seen in wholesale and retail, repair of cars and motorcycles, processing and manufacturing and construction. Twelve sectors saw an increase in new enterprises in the period, with the real estate trading sector seeing the highest growth at 41.1%.
