The Electronic Business Coalition launched on October 20, 2017 will help create more and better jobs and improve labor relations in the electronics industry. This is one of the initiatives of VCCI and Vietnam Electronics Business Association (VEIA) aimed at creating a forum for multinational enterprises as well as electronic suppliers in Vietnam to meet, exchange and cooperate with each other to jointly build responsible labor practices, creating decent work for the Vietnamese electronics industry.

According to Dr. Vu Tien Loc, Union of Electronic Enterprises in Vietnam will be a close connection, through which enterprises can share experiences, strengthen training and connection. Establishing a corporate social responsibility network is a form that VCCI will pay special attention to in the future.

In the past, VCCI has worked with the ILO and VEIA to develop solutions and actions to assist e-businesses in the application of labor policies, including the principles set out in the labor law and the ILO Labor Conventions and Recommendations, to promote social progress and sustainable work.
Vietnam's electronics industry has been growing steadily in recent years. The number of e-businesses in Vietnam has increased dramatically. If there were only 256 enterprises in 2005, there were 1,021 enterprises in 2014. The total number of employees in the industry has increased seven-fold in eight years, from 46,000 employees in 2005 to more than 327,000 in 2013 and about 500,000 at the current time.
The expansion of the transnational production network of multinational electronics firms has had a positive impact on the economies of developing countries such as Vietnam through the more effective use of capital, technology and labor . However, there are still issues related to labor and employment.
According to Dr. Vu Tien Loc: “The implementation of the standards and regulations on social responsibility in general and labor relations in particular is a very important requirement. By investing in employees and fulfilling the social responsibilities of labor relations, enterprises can recruit, train and promote the dynamics, creativity and responsibility of employees themselves.”
Dr. Changhee Lee, Director of ILO Vietnam giving a speech at the ceremony
"Multinational companies have a great influence wherever they invest, wherever they are," said ILO director, Dr. Changhee Lee. Therefore, the way they manage their human resources, or the way they manage their workplace relationships, has a tremendous impact on not only the workplace but also the global supply chain.
Participation in the Electronic Business Alliance in Vietnam will improve their labor practices to match national and international labor standards through the best support tools for the industry. As a result, businesses can increase labor productivity, reduce business risk, enhance brand reputation and competitiveness, and increase industry collaboration on labor issues.
