Assessment of Gender Impact of the Proposed Amendments to the Vietnam Labor Code 2012

Dear Company;


The Labor Law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was promulgated on June 23, 1994, came into effect on January 1, 1995; has been amended and supplemented in 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2012. However, the process of integration and socio-economic development of Vietnam in recent years has been setting new requirements, requiring further revision and improvement of the Labor law. In 2017, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 38 / NQ-CP dated 25/4/2017 and Resolution No. 99 / NQ-CP dated 03/10/2017 on the amendment and supplementation of the Labor Law in the future.

 

To provide information for gender impact assessment (tentative) of the proposed amendments and supplements to the proposed amendment to the Labor Law, the Bureau for Employer’s activities in VietNam survey to gather information as follows:


- Giving opinions on the selection of plans for amending and supplementing policies;


- Identification of gender impacts (tentative) of options for amending and supplementing policies;
